Join as you go granny squares
My favourite way to join granny squares is the join as you go method. I love how in this technique it looks like they are complete granny squares and you put the last round of the granny square and the joining at the same time.
I was taught this method over 10 years ago by a elderly lady and that started my YouTube tutorials. I searched on YouTube to see if anyone else had the method and there wasn't a tutorial, so I filmed my own and it has been watched by over a million people Using this method you can made the last round of each granny square the same colour or different colours |
Sewing granny squares together
This method is great if you do not want a big join, sewing them also leaves a flat seam
Sewing them together is slower than crocheting them together but it all depends on what look you want on your finished project The video below will show you how to sew them together |
Joining granny squares with a single crochet stitch
Granny squares can be crocheted together using the single crochet stitch. This method give a decorative ridge that is created by the single crochet stitch on the right side (the side that you are crocheting into) On the back side of the work the join is flat
You can use the same yarn that you used for the last round of the granny square or you can use a contrast colour for extra flair
The single crochet joining method works up quite quick and is easy to do
The video tutorial will show you all you need to know
