US Terminology
- This design can be made into a mug rug, scarf or blanket
- This project is worked on one side. We do not turn at the end of the row.
- Make chs in multiples of 8 + 5. What that means is you need to make a ch in sets of 8, as long and wide as you wish your project to be, and then add 5 ch more.
You can use the foundation sc (FSC) for this project - your multiple is 8 + 4.
If using chains and then single crocheting back across - your multiple is 8 + 5.
If using chains and then single crocheting back across - your multiple is 8 + 5.
2. Starting with MC (main colour) Work your fsc’s OR make your chain using the multiple above. If you have chosen the chains, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Cut your yarn and finish off. DO NOT TURN, this project is worked on one side. We do not turn at the end of the row. Go back to the start of the row.
2. Join new CC with sl st in back loop only (BLO), sc into BLO across to end of row. Finish off.
3. Join MC at beginning of the row with a sl st into the BLO, sc into same stitch as you joined yarn, sc in next 3 back loops. For the next stitch, drop down 2 rows below, dc into the vacant front loop (FL) of the next 4 sc’s 2 rows below*sc into next 4 BLO of your current row, dc into the next 4 FL’s 2 rows below* Repeat from* to end of the row. Finish off. DO NOT TURN
4. Repeat row 2
5. Join MC at beginning of the row with a sl st into the BLO, *dc into the next 4 FL’s 2 rows below, sc in the next 4 back loops* Repeat from* to end of the row. Finish off. DO NOT TURN
6. Repeat rows 2-5 for the remainder of your project
Border
You can sew in all your ends, make a fringe with your ends or follow Tinna Thorudottir Thorvaldar’s
tutorial as I did for mine. Her method is GENIUS!!
