Ch 3 counts as a dc
Use the different coloured stitch marker to mark the ends with your increases on them When working the cross stitches they will stack on top of each other You gain 1 stitch every row Hdc rows are worked in blocks of 6 rows Sts - stitches St - stitch Hdc - half double crochet Hdcdec - half double crochet decrease Dc - double crochet Dcdec - double crochet decrease |
Hdc rows
1. RS - ch 4 (place a stitch marker in the 4th ch, 1 hdc into the 4th ch from hook. Place a st marker anywhere on this row to mark the RIGHT side of your work turn (2 sts)
2. WS - ch 3 (place st marker in 3 rd ch just made) 3 hdc into the top of the ch 3 (this is the stitch we marked on row 1) turn ( 4 sts )
Each time you do a ch 3, move up the stitch marker from the row below and mark the 3rd ch

5. RS - ch 3, 2 hdc in same stitch, hdc across, until you have 2 stitches left, not including the ch 3, hdcdec, DO NOT work into ch 3 that is marked with a st marker
4. WS - ch 3, hdc into each st across, 3 hdc into the top of the ch 3
5. RS - ch 3, 2 hdc in same stitch, hdc across, until you have 2 stitches left, not including the ch 3, hdcdec, DO NOT work into ch 3 that is marked with a st marker
6. Repeat row 4
7. RS - ch 3, 2 dc into the same stitch, cross stitch across the row, dcdec into the last 2 st, DO NOT work into ch 3 that is marked with a st marker
8. WS - ch 3, cross stitch across, 3 dc into the top of the ch 3
