This crochet market bag has been one of the hardest patterns to get to you ! Gremlins decided to move into my computer and they have been given their eviction notice ! Lets just hope they stay away and never visit again haha The Cross stitch Bag can be made in either a 4 weight or worsted weight (US)/Aran (UK)/ 8 ply (AUS) or a number 3 weight (US)/ DK (UK)/ 8 ply )AUS) yarn This bag is a easy+ pattern and if you want to make it a little easier you can substitute the cross stitches for plain double crochet :) I used Red Heart Super Saver Ombre in the Scuba and Red Heart Super Saver in the Light Grey and a 5mm/H hook If you would like to use a lighter weight, a number 3 weight (US)/ DK (UK)/ 8 ply )AUS) yarn will work with a 4mm/G hook

If you are new to crochet cables or scared like I was for many years, I have 3 patterns to get you started.
It took me years, yes years to get enough courage to try cables. I am not sure why but I was scared to try them, in my head they were SOOOOO hard to learn. Had I ever tried to learn, no One day my friend Cassie came over to teach me and I couldn't believe how easy they were! Ok, when I say easy, if you can do a front post and a back post double crochet, then you can (with practice) make a simple crochet cable like the Linda's Cable Stitch Hat - I designed this hat in memory of my mum who passed away 2 1/2 years ago. I made it in grey because it represents Brain Cancer awareness and that horrible cancer is what took my mum away from my family Gosh, before we get all emotional and I can not see what I am typing, back to the subject at hand, cables ! They are pretty and there are so many different ways you can make them So far I have 3 designs, which reminds me I really have to designs some more projects with cables ! The next cable hat and the next step up is the Cassiopia Cable hat - this was designed in memory of my friend Cassie who passed away about 3 months before my mum :( I thought I have to design a cable hat in memory of her, because Cassie is the one that taught me :) The last cable pattern I have for you is the Cable stitch scarf or blanket if you want to get adventurous ! This pattern still has simple cables but they are repeated more often and in the blanket I used 3 strands at once. THe blanket grows fast and looks awesome The written patterns for all 3 designs can be found below Hope you enjoy the patterns and have a go, but remember if you have not done cables before, you may not get it first, second, third or even 10th go, but that is ok :) Take a deep breath, have some chocolate/coffee/tea/wine and relax and try again, just don't drink to much wine because your crochet cables will not get any easier to learn LOL Have a fantabulous week Happy crochet Clare xx
